I recently received a second place Robert P. Kelly Award, for news and feature writing by a first-year reporter, from the New Jersey Press Association. More than eight months in to my job at the Daily Record and my boss says I’ve “had a great start.” I’ll take it.

UPDATE: NJPM received The Lloyd P. Burns Award for Public Service for “Press for the Cure.” The campaign raised more than $62,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. NJPM papers include the Daily Record, Asbury Park Press, Courier News, Courier-Post, Home News Tribune and Daily Journal.
